Hiatus

The Greene County Track Club will take the 2011 season off. With the much anticipated renovation to the WMHS track, (and work at AHS & UVA tracks), there is no place to practice. The WMMS track team will also take the year off, and the WMHS varsity team, according to rumors, will be practicing in a parking lot.
Please continue to run and enjoy the sport, and we will see you in 2012.

Virginia AAA State Indoor Championships

Commonwealth District Championships

District Championships were held Feb. 7th at Colonial Forge High School.
Camron participated in two jump events, getting 15th in the Long Jump (16-3) and 8th in the Triple (35-11). I know Cam is disappointed, but his efforts in the pits are excellent for a freshman. Keep the faith, we know you will do better in Outdoor!
Ryan ran the 1600 & the 1000 within 30 minutes. His first race, the 1600, he took third with a PR of 4:26.97, knocking over 8 seconds off his previous best. He followed that with a 2:42.83 1000m, and finished 4th. Ryan will move on to the Northwest Regionals next week.
Congrats to both young men on their efforts and dedication to the sport.

Yale Invitational

The boys traveled to Yale for a two day meet Jan. 21-22. Pictured is the Distance Medley Relay Team, touching the "lucky" toe of one of Yale's iconic statues.

Ryan ran the opening 1200m in 3:21, and handed the baton off to Camron for his 55.9 400m leg. Unfortunately, Adam was knocked down during the final 1600m, and the boys finished 10th with a 11:05.

Saturday, Ryan ran the mile, and set a PR of 4:35.64.

It was a great trip to New Haven, and fun was had by all.

Fork Union Mini-Invite #3

On a snowy Friday night in January, the FUMA Mini-Invite was held, with 12 teams competing. Camron again did very well, with a SB (& I think PR) in the Long Jump. He placed 9th with a 17'-10.5" jump. Cam also rocked the Triple Jump with a 35'-8" effort to place 11th. He ran the 300m dash, and finished 19th with a time of 42.13. Camron was the first leg of the 4x200 relay, which placed fourth with a time of 1:42.54. Ryan ran two relays, the 4x800 and the 4x400. The relay team placed first in the 4X8. A dropped baton led to a disappointing 8th place finish in the 4x4. The boys return to FUMA this coming Saturday, with the Frank Hardy Invitational.
